For anyone looking to re-register as a Forklift Training Instructor, will require our 5 day re-registration course. Successful candidates will be registered on the ITSSAR National Register of Instructors valid for 5 years. We are a national Forklift Truck Training Centre based on the south of England covering the UK on a wide variety of Forklift Truck Training courses, including Forktruck Instructor Training UK, all accredited to ITSSAR’s high standards. INSTRUCTOR – 5 DAY REFRESHER / RENEWAL INSTRUCTOR COURSE
All Forklift Instructor Training Courses are fully accredited by ITSSAR, “Independent Training Standards and Scheme Register” who are the founders of the ABA “Accrediting Bodies Association”. The 5 Day Re-Registration Course is designed for previously experienced category 1 instructors who have been training in-house candidates or not training consistently 5 days per week.
About the 5 Day Re-Registration
Re-registration candidates must provide evidence of thier own current or previous ITSSAR lift truck instructor registration.
Re-registration candidates that are currently ITTSAR registered ( or whose registration has not expired for longer than 6 months ) are eligible to attend a re-registration course of a minimum 5 days’ duration.
Re-registration candidates whose registration has expired for longer than 6 months but less than 5 years must attend a course of a minimum 5 days’ duration.
It is strongly advised that those instructors that do not have high levels of instructional ability and have not regularly conducted Basic Operator Training within their registration period attend a course of a minimum 5 days’ duration.
Candidates whose registration has expired for longer than 5 years are not eligible to attend a re-registration course and must attend a 10 day novice instructor course.
Currently qualified ITSSAR instructor trainers are eligible to attend a direct 5 day course. The instructor trainer must still successfully complete the Basic Operator Skills Test to instructor standards.
A five day course for Lift Truck Instructors registered with other accredited organisation such as the Military, RTITB, AITT or NPORS) who wish to register with ITTSAR or instructors whose ITSSAR registration has lapsed for more than 6 months but less than 5 years.
The examination consists of 9 elements which are:
- Conduct a Practical Demonstration
- Conduct a Practical Lesson
- Theory Health & Safety at Work
- Theory Instructional Techniques
- Theory Recommendations of Training
- Report Writing
- Conduct a Practical Skills Test
- Use of Training Aids
- MHSWR
All 9 elements must be successfully completed to achieve an overall pass and qualify as a Lift Truck Instructor.
Publications required:
Candidates will require the following publications, PUWER,
LOLER, and ACOP L117 Safety in Working with lift trucks.
Candidates will also require the following:
- Protective footwear
- Variety of coloured pens
- A4 Binding Folder
- 2 x passport photos
- Instructors compendium
- Previous Instructors Certificate / Licence
- Training aids used for day to day training

Course Requirements
COURSE EXPECTATIONS
This course is highly practical and all candidates will enjoy learning and participating in all tasks including practical demonstrations, classroom presentations and examinations. Candidates will also be expected to complete homework on a daily basis. Candidates must have full operational experience and Health & Safety knowledge.

COURSE LOCATION
All instructors’ courses will be held at our ITSSAR accredited training centre in Littlehampton, West Sussex. We have Large heated modern facilities and a modern fully equipped training room. There are also kitchen facilities.
